Known as the flagship residence within the prestigious Amangani Villas community, Aman 12 exemplifies the timeless simplicity, site-responsive design, and refined craftsmanship that define Ward Blake Architects' approach to luxury mountain architecture. Perched on a dramatic butte overlooking Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the residence is carefully integrated into the natural terrain, allowing the architecture to emerge organically from the landscape while capturing panoramic views of the Teton Range, Snake River Valley, and surrounding mountains.

The home's defining architectural gesture is a series of elongated pavilion-like wedges that extend naturally across the hillside. Rather than imposing upon the landscape, each pavilion follows the site's contours and is connected by a continuous living sod roof spine that visually anchors the residence to the mountainside. This innovative composition minimizes the home's visual impact while reinforcing its connection to the natural environment and enhancing long-term environmental performance.

The central circulation spine forms the primary east-west axis of the home, creating an engaging sequence of spaces that unfolds gradually from arrival to the main living areas. As residents and guests move through the residence, a carefully choreographed progression of subtle level changes, expansive glazing, and framed mountain vistas creates moments of discovery and anticipation. This experiential journey culminates in the dramatic great room, where floor-to-ceiling glass opens the home to breathtaking alpine views and fills the interior with abundant natural daylight.

The architecture embraces a philosophy of restraint, allowing the surrounding landscape to become the home's most significant design element. Clean lines, open volumes, and a minimalist material palette create serene interiors where the dramatic scenery remains the focal point. Every room maintains a strong visual connection to the outdoors, reinforcing the seamless relationship between architecture and nature that defines the Amangani community.

Custom architectural details further elevate the living experience. Integrated millwork—including built-in cabinetry, seating, and a sculptural floor-to-ceiling headboard within the primary suite—creates a cohesive dialogue between architecture and interior design. These bespoke elements maximize functionality while maintaining the uncluttered aesthetic that characterizes the residence.

Throughout the home, carefully crafted materials express a refined interpretation of western mountain architecture. Natural wood, stone, steel, and expansive glazing combine to create an atmosphere that is both sophisticated and deeply rooted in its surroundings. This balance of rustic authenticity and contemporary elegance allows Aman 12 to establish its own architectural identity while remaining harmonious with the design guidelines of the exclusive Amangani community.

Outdoor living is equally integral to the home's design. Terraces, landscaped roof gardens, and intimate gathering spaces extend the living environment into the surrounding landscape, creating opportunities to experience Jackson Hole's changing seasons, expansive mountain views, and exceptional natural beauty from every part of the residence.

Sustainability is woven into every aspect of the project. Sensitive site planning, green roof systems, passive environmental strategies, and durable natural materials reduce the home's environmental footprint while enhancing comfort, energy efficiency, and long-term performance. By working with the natural topography rather than altering it, the residence demonstrates how luxury architecture can coexist harmoniously with one of the West's most remarkable landscapes.

Aman 12 reflects Ward Blake Architects' philosophy of designing architecture that is inseparable from its setting. Through innovative site integration, thoughtful spatial sequencing, exceptional craftsmanship, and timeless contemporary mountain design, the residence creates an extraordinary living experience that celebrates the beauty, tranquility, and spirit of Jackson Hole.
