aman 3
Aman 3 is a refined luxury mountain residence located within the exclusive Amangani Villas community in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Originally designed as a showcase home to establish the architectural vision for the Amangani neighborhood, the residence demonstrates how thoughtful site planning, timeless materials, and contemporary mountain architecture can create an intimate yet sophisticated retreat that is deeply connected to its extraordinary surroundings.
Positioned on an elevated corner homesite, Aman 3 captures sweeping panoramic views of Snow King Mountain, Saddle Butte, the Snake River Valley, and the iconic Teton Range. The home's placement was carefully considered to maximize these remarkable vistas while preserving privacy from adjacent streets and neighboring residences through strategic landscaping and sensitive site design.
The architecture is composed of a series of interconnected pavilions, each designed to house a distinct living function. Individual volumes accommodate the great room, primary suite, guest accommodations, and garage, allowing each space to express its purpose while creating a collection of forms that respond naturally to the site's topography. This pavilion concept creates a sense of rhythm and scale while reinforcing the home's connection to the surrounding landscape.
The gently sloping terrain inspired the home's rooflines, with each pavilion featuring angled forms that echo the natural contours of the hillside. Low-profile flat roof connectors and expansive glass link the individual structures together, creating a seamless architectural composition while visually separating the living spaces. The result is a residence that feels both cohesive and light, allowing the surrounding mountain scenery to remain the dominant visual experience.
Natural materials—including stone, wood, glass, and metal—reflect the architectural language established throughout the Amangani community while providing warmth, durability, and timeless appeal. Floor-to-ceiling glazing frames dramatic mountain views, fills the interiors with natural daylight, and strengthens the relationship between indoor and outdoor living. Carefully positioned outdoor terraces and gathering spaces further extend the living experience into the surrounding landscape, allowing residents to enjoy Jackson Hole's changing seasons from every part of the home.
Privacy and tranquility were central to the design. By positioning the residence away from intersecting streets and integrating native landscaping into the site, the home creates a peaceful retreat while maintaining unobstructed views across the valley and surrounding mountains. This thoughtful balance of openness and seclusion enhances the overall living experience and reinforces the sense of serenity that defines the Amangani community.
The residence embodies sustainable site planning through its sensitive integration with the natural terrain. Rather than imposing upon the landscape, the architecture follows the hillside, minimizing visual impact while preserving the beauty and character of the surrounding environment.
Aman 3 reflects Ward Blake Architects' philosophy of creating luxury mountain homes that respond to their setting through thoughtful site integration, timeless materials, and enduring architectural design. By carefully balancing privacy, panoramic views, and contemporary craftsmanship, the residence establishes a benchmark for sophisticated resort living in one of the American West's most extraordinary landscapes.
