Located in the mountain town of Jackson, Wyoming, the Broadway Office Building is a modern commercial project designed to maximize usable workspace within a highly constrained site. Responding to town setback, open-space, and parking requirements, Ward Blake Architects developed an efficient design that balances commercial value, natural daylight, energy efficiency, and compatibility with the surrounding residential neighborhood.

The building’s organization makes strategic use of every available square foot. Outdoor parking is tucked beneath the second floor, reducing the amount of valuable site area dedicated solely to vehicles while allowing more of the property to support productive commercial space. Primary circulation is located along the building’s exterior, further maximizing rentable interior floor area and creating an efficient solution to the limitations of the site.

Although designed as a contemporary office building, the architecture responds to the scale and character of its Jackson neighborhood. Gabled roof forms and wood siding reference familiar residential and regional building traditions, helping the commercial structure integrate comfortably into its surroundings. The result is a modern workplace that maintains a strong connection to the architectural character of Jackson Hole.

Natural daylight is integrated throughout the building to create bright, inviting work environments. Thoughtful site planning and carefully positioned openings bring daylight into all levels of the project, including the basement, transforming below-grade areas into functional and comfortable commercial spaces. This emphasis on daylight supports occupant well-being while reducing reliance on artificial lighting.
