Designed by Ward|Blake Architects, the residence demonstrates how sustainable design, site-responsive planning, and authentic natural materials can create a home that feels both distinctly modern and deeply rooted in place.

Carefully positioned at the base of the Teton Mountains, the home's narrow footprint follows the natural contours of the site to maximize panoramic mountain views, natural daylight, and passive solar performance. Its orientation captures sunlight throughout the day while generous roof overhangs provide seasonal shading and protection from Wyoming's changing climate. Every aspect of the home's placement was carefully considered to minimize its visual impact while enhancing its connection to the surrounding landscape.

The architecture reflects a refined interpretation of contemporary Western design. A restrained palette of weathering Corten steel siding, charcoal standing-seam metal roofing, warm wood accents, and native landscaping allows the residence to blend harmoniously with neighboring agricultural structures while establishing its own distinctive architectural identity. The naturally aging Corten steel develops a rich patina over time, providing exceptional durability and virtually maintenance-free performance while echoing the colors and textures of the surrounding fields and mountains.

Sustainability is seamlessly integrated into every aspect of the design. Heated and cooled by a ground-source geothermal heat pump, the home features a super-insulated building envelope that delivers exceptional energy efficiency and year-round comfort. Passive solar principles further reduce energy demands by capturing winter sunlight while carefully designed overhangs protect the interiors from excessive summer heat. Together, these strategies create a high-performance residence that minimizes environmental impact without compromising comfort or luxury.

A planted living sod roof visually connects the guest wing and garage to the primary residence, allowing the architecture to merge naturally with the surrounding landscape while improving insulation and stormwater management. The home's L-shaped floor plan embraces a sheltered outdoor courtyard, creating a protected gathering space that shields occupants from prevailing winds while framing uninterrupted views of the Teton Range.
