This 991 s.f. Guest House is separated from the Main House by a creek that runs between them. It is connected by acurving path that mimics the hallway of the Main House as it crosses the creek in a continuous link through the site tothe Main House entry.

The Guest House is set out of the primary views of the Main House and has separate parking that is hidden behind a berm that conceals it from the access road. The butterfly roof rises to the surrounding mountain views extending the eaves over covered porches to create shade and protection.

New landscaping connects the project seamlessly with the riparian river bottom environment. Sandstone and Sho Sugi Ban siding link the house to its natural setting while large high performance bronze windows open the house to magnificent views, daylight, and transparency that lets it visually breath in a biophilic way. A ground source heat pump utilizes the pond to heat/cool the house and super insulation creates a superior exterior envelope.

The compact size and efficiency of the GuestHouse has charmed the Owner's family and friends so much that it is rarely empty.
