Located along the Snake River in Teton County, Wyoming, the SRSC Residence is a contemporary mountain home shaped by its relationship to water, landscape, and expansive views. The architecture responds directly to the unique conditions of the site, with each facet of the residence carefully oriented toward a meaningful stretch of the river. Views toward Wolf Creek Canyon establish a strong east-west axis, anchoring the home to both the landscape and the cardinal directions.

Rather than imposing a predetermined form on the property, the geometry of the residence emerges from its surroundings. Angled façades frame distinct views of the Snake River and surrounding mountain landscape, creating an evolving connection to nature as occupants move through the home. This site-specific approach allows architecture and landscape to work together, reinforcing a strong sense of place and a distinctly biophilic living experience.

A restrained palette of natural materials further connects the residence to the character of northwestern Wyoming. Hemlock and Douglas fir introduce warmth, texture, and regional authenticity, while the layered roof structure responds to the demanding mountain climate and gives the home a strong architectural presence. A seamless metal roof provides durability and refinement, creating a contemporary counterpoint to the otherwise natural and rustic material palette.

The interplay of carefully framed views, natural wood, layered roof forms, and the movement of the river creates a residence that is both grounded and dynamic. Every major design decision—from the orientation of the building to the selection of materials—reinforces the relationship between the home and its extraordinary setting.
